From Soil to Soul

Where Heritage Takes Root

Sibbie’s Roots was born from memory, from soil, and from spirit. It begins with the hands that came before us, hands that planted, healed, cooked, and carried knowledge through generations. In Georgetown, South Carolina, those traditions once formed the foundation of community life, where food was medicine, land was legacy, and knowledge was passed from elder to child without interruption. Over time, much of that connection was disrupted. Sibbie’s Roots exists to restore it.

A Healing Garden for Community & Culture

Located in Georgetown, South Carolina, Sibbie’s Roots is being developed as a living agricultural and cultural ecosystem. A place where land, health, and heritage come back into alignment.

Through our Healing Garden, Apothecary, and educational programs, we are cultivating:

  • African Diaspora crops and heritage varieties
  • Medicinal plants and herbal traditions
  • Seed preservation and agricultural education
  • Food-based approaches to improving community health
  • Spaces for cultural storytelling, learning, and gathering

This is not simply a garden. It is a working model for how communities can reconnect with land and reclaim control over health and food systems.
